Welcome to sbsake photography's blog!

The memories that last a lifetime.

Will you be my Valentine

It’s time to start thinking of Valentine’s again.  It’s a wonderful time of the year where everyone is showing another love.  Whether it is to a friend, stranger, family, or the one you want to spend the rest of your life with- it’s a smile, a gift, and a wonderful sentiment- love.

Many people struggle what to get each other.  Have you thought about getting that special someone a photo?  Or maybe you are tired of your kids giving out the same old Valentines and looking for something different this year…

Maybe its time to pop the question and you want to remember that moment for a lifetime in pictures.  Whatever you thoughts for Valentines, it is a special day and we want to hear about yours.   Leave a message tell us your plans or the best one you’ve had so far.

Here’s sample of a Valentine’s card we made last year

New Photography Blog

So we recently decided to update the look to our blog and website because of our new logo image (isn’t it great?).  While doing this we had some growing pains.  One was that our site was down for a few days (not good at all).  Another was that our pictures didn’t transfer to the new photography blog (such a bummer).  But we embrace any pains and make things better!

We are doing this by going through each blog and re-adding any photo that went missing.  Double checking everything, as we are going through and improving anything that needs it. :)

Next we are adding more info to provide you with everything you need to make an informed decision during your next photoshoot! Yay you!

Finally, we are providing you with more photos, so you can see the art that we have already created, which will help you to get ideas for your photo session, as well as see who we truly are through our art (yes I believe each photo is art!)

Outdoor Senior Photo

You will find that most of our senior sessions are on location.  Pick up to 3 locations to get started and we do the rest.  You will pick your clothes and special items that you want to remember from high school.

Think in terms of what you do! Are you in band or choir? Sports? Football, volleyball, basketball or any things else that can be considered a sport?  How about drama or tae kwondo?  Now think do you have your favorite car of all times?  what about a special truck?

Now that we started thinking about items, how about people?  Do you hang out with a special to you group of people?  What about a best friend? mom or sister?  dad or brother?  Who is important to you that you want to have remembered in your senior moments?  What about a pet?

These are all great things to think about when planning your senior portrait session.  Have more questions? head over to sbsakephotography.com or give us a call at 720-223-6233

Christmas Time Again

It is the holiday season full of many different types of holidays, including Christmas- my favorite one. I love decorating the house all up and dressing myself and kids in Christmas clothes. The best part is all the memories I collect. I do this first and foremost by having fun with my family and sharing my knowledge and beliefs. Then I photograph everything I can. I collect these photos to share and review. I have a scrapbook that I like to collect them in even though its been a while since I put anything in there.

I have a whole collection to scrapbook but I run out of time too. I plan this year to spend time with my kids doing this. They have their own scrapbooks and really want to get to work helping me and creating their own memories. This is a wonderful gift that I can give them and they can pass down these memories for years to come. Have you ever thought about what if our great-grandparents would have scrapbooked? All those memories we could have now and share with our kids too? We go researching all over the place to find out more about us; we watch tv shows that are about ancestry.

We are definitely interested in our past and want to know more about our family. So what are you doing to give this to your great-grandchildren. It is time to start documenting your lives. If you can’t scrapbook, so what- you have so many other ways to share. You could blog and post pictures there or you could put together a photo album and diary that can be passed down. We all know Anne Frank and her life because she was so kind to write it down.

Now I know our all our lives may not be as interesting as Anne Frank, well so at least we think. But our great-grandchildren may beg to differ. They may want to know all about your struggles and successes that encourage them to keep on moving forward. I leave you with that- go out- get photos- and document what you can.

White

We have featured several B&W photo challenges in the past, but this time we want to focus on the color white…in a color photo. How fun will that be?!

We will not be accepting any B&W photo entries this week.  Your entry must be a color photo.

Please make sure that the color White it strongly featured in your photo entry and that a human face is clearly showing as well.

I have the perfect baby photo for this great challenge by iheartfaces.  This is a wonderful baby from a baby session I had.

Photo Challenge | Pet Week

It’s time to celebrate our furry friends again! Even though this theme is called “Pets Week” feel free to enter a photo that features any animal, bird or critter in it (it does not necessarily be a pet.)

I recently had a photo session of a family including their two dogs.  I got a really great picture of one of their dogs and I had to share it for pet photo week!

Photo Challenge | Beautiful Eyes

This one was easy in concept.  I knew exactly what I wanted.  See all my kids have gorgeous eyes but one has unique eyes.  She has one blue and one green.  The hard part is photographing it because her eyes don’t want to show both colors all the time.  I was able to capture it in my cell phone so here is by blue eyed- green eyed girl:

Yes she was getting frustrated with all the pictures I was taking to capture the one. :D

Family Photo Session with Dogs

Here at sbsake Photography, we had a recent session with an awesome family that has 2 dogs.  This was a lot of fun.  We did both an outdoor and indoor session.  Outdoor was at the park and then in our indoor studio.  We were able to capture some great photos of the dogs, child, and mom!  Family photo sessions are a lot of fun and here are some from the session.
